About the company

COLIBA is a mobile and SMS platform that connects households and businesses with affiliated plastic waste pickers in Ivory Coast. In exchange for the plastic collected, they receive points that can be converted into airtime. The plastic is then transformed into pellets before being sold. COLIBA's mission is to solve three major problems in Ivory Coast: preserving the environment, creating jobs and formalising the entire sector. Its goal is to simplify the way people manage their waste by offering an uncomplicated, painless solution and, in turn, source good quality materials for recycling.
